For this hiking tour I can take from 1 to 8 people. By default program planed to start from Yalta and then I return you to Yalta. All your luggage you can leave in my car. Each day we walk around 16-20 km. (appr. 11-12 miles). Each walk is a kind of loop, we start from a car and comeback to a car, but we always use a new road, that's we never walk along the same path. For a night we stay in a small village in a house (rooms for 2) with home-made food from our hosts.
This tour is a short version of my 3-day hiking program. Additionally in my 3-day program we visit Sudak, Novyi Svet, Bakhchisaray (here we spend additional night)
Accommodation: we spend a night in a small village in house of inhabitants. Rooms for 2 with attached bathroom.
Food: Home made dinner and breakfast. Sandwiches for lunch.
What to see: Cave town Eski-Kermen, working orthodox cave monastery, the Grand Canyon of Crimea, life of ordinary people and traditions of Ukrainian hospitality.
«Cave towns of Crimea are fragments of lost civilization, mute witnesses of human passions: joy of cunning bargain, the night pray-thanksgiving for healthy children and happiness in marriage... and - sudden fury of Nogai nomads, fire and grief...»
This day we will visit working cave monastery (VI-th c.) and cave town Eski-Kermen (XI-th c.). Distance 20 km. (12,5 miles). Vertical ascent/descent is 580 m.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day hiking tour and were glad that we had booked these days to
a) take the pain out of organizing trips off the beaten track and
b) to get an insider's view of Crimea.
What we appreciated most apart from the spectacular views, the food and clear mountain water, was getting to know people like Alex and Lila our lovely hosts in the village, their neighbour Alim who happened to join us for tea, and the "trainee monk" in the orthodox cave monastary. Thanks for encouraging conversation and doing all the translating! What we would say to visitors of your website is just this: Travelling with Sergey is a lot more than taking part in a well organized tour, it's like travelling with a friend!

Hello Sergey, Just to say thanks again for the great two day hiking trip in Crimea. it was really great and I will certainly be back for more - the mountain biking sounds very special. The night in village was particuarly memorable, somewhere I'd really like to return to. Foreigners love this sort of thing, especially the good food at the end of the day! You asked for suggestions - to be honest I have no complaints at all about our trip, we just saw great places. Was particularly good we avoided the crowds. It's great to be able to link up with other people as we did, since this reduces the cost quite drastically and also creates a great atmosphere.

The Crimean mountains in October are an incredible experience. As an Australian I can never recall Autumn flaunting her colours so vivdly before me. The woods were shady and lovely, the streams cold and thirstquenching, the views -green, orange, gold, red tapestries - breathtaking. We ate fresh hazelnuts and pears and other fruits. We visited cave mountains where Sergey's stories brought to life the mountain peoples world - cattle stables, defence fortress, shops and religion. Centuries of the mountain lifestyle and the battles with the Tatars. It is an incredible thing to watch history played out in front of you in your minds eye. The evening we spent in a rural mountain village and the hospitality of the couple was wonderful.
I reckon I burnt more calories walking those two days than any others in my life! It was SO GREAT.
Sergey is a sincere and patient man with a professional attitude and a great sense of humour.
